Job Description:
POSITION OVERVIEWThe Apprenticeship Program Instructor - Industrial Technology will oversee, teach, and mentor apprenticeship students in the industrial technologies classroom and laboratory settings. This role ensures compliance with Ohio apprenticeship guidelines while providing hands-on training, mentoring, and evaluating apprentices to develop the necessary skills and knowledge for success in their roles.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Training Delivery:
    • Conduct on-site training sessions on various industrial technology practices.
    • Develop and deliver instructional materials, including manuals, guides, and visual aids.
    • Utilize a variety of training techniques, including demonstrations, simulations, and hands-on practice.
  • Course Instruction
    • Teach courses in the following areas:
      • Industrial Electricity
      • Electrical Prints & Troubleshooting
      • Programmable Logic Controllers
      • Industrial Safety
      • Servo/Robotics
      • Bench Work
      • Machine Repair
      • Principles of Machining
      • Machining Processes
      • Fluid Power
      • Applied Geometry & Trigonometry
      • Industrial Computing
  • Apprentice Support
    • Provide one-on-one coaching and mentoring to apprentices.
    • Monitor and evaluate apprentice progress, providing constructive feedback and additional support as needed.
    • Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment.
  • Assessment and Evaluation
    • Conduct regular assessments and evaluations of apprentices' skills and knowledge.
    • Document training activities, apprentice progress, and assessment results.
    • Provide detailed reports to management on apprentice performance and training outcomes.
  • Compliance
    • Ensure all training activities adhere to Ohio apprenticeship guidelines and company safety standards.
    • Promote a culture of safety and compliance among apprentices.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Industrial Technology, or in a closely related discipline and/or a combination of education (i.e. Journeyman's card, associates degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Industrial Technology, discipline specific license), training, and tested experience totaling a minimum of 5 years in the field.
  • Proven experience in industrial technology or a related field.
  • Experience in training, mentoring, or teaching, preferably in a technical or industrial setting.
  • Strong technical knowledge in industrial technology and related practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Proficiency in using training software and tools.
