We invite you to join us as we strive to be The Most Trusted Partner for Health.The Advance Practice Provider is responsible for providing direct consumer care to assigned consumers within an urgent care setting. This is a professional level position working under limited direction yet in coordination with a Lead APP. Typical work scenario require specialized knowledge, critical thinking, sound judgment based upon the principles of biological, physiological, behavioral, and sociological sciences skills, as well as strong customer service skills. Internal contacts include medical staff and management throughout the clinic and health system. External contacts include consumers, physicians, outside medical staff, and community resource services.Performs and provides treatments for minor acute illness, consumer examinations, making initial assessment, initiating treatment and referring to appropriate center of care when applicable.Determines abnormal conditions by administering or ordering diagnostic tests, such as x-rays, electrocardiograms, and laboratory studies; interpreting test results.Performs therapeutic procedures by administering injections and immunizations; suturing; managing wounds and infections.Instructs and counsels consumers by describing therapeutic regimens; giving normal growth and development information and promoting wellness and health maintenance.Develops and implements consumer management plans, records progress notes, and assists in provision of continuity of care. May be required to supervise ancillary staff.Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions and refers consumers to specialist and to relevant consumer care options as appropriate.Demonstrates good organizational skills in coordinating services with co-workers and other departments/services.Responds to stressful situations in a calm, rational manner and cooperates with all to facilitate integration of services.Behaves in a professional and empathetic manner to build trust, comfort, understanding, and relationships with consumers and the secondary guest(s) and in-line with Studer Principles.Procedures include but are not limited to:X-Ray InterpretationForeign Body RemovalFracture or Dislocation ImmobilizationHistory & Physical ExaminationIncision & DrainageNail TrephinationNail RemovalNasal PackingPreliminary Interpretation of Plain FilmsWound Debridement & RepairWound DressingMinor Laceration SuturingRequired QualificationsEducationBA or BS in Relative FieldMaster of Science in NursingSuccessful completion of the American Nursing Association National Certification Test for Advanced Practice as a Family Nurse PractitionerLicensure/CertificationsCurrent State Registered NurseLicensed by the State of Oklahoma as an APRNValid Drug Enforcement Agency licenseApproval for privileges by Medical StaffPreferred QualificationsOne (1) year of experience as an APP in a family practice setting, urgent care, or related field Strong oral and written communication skillsKnowledge of national medical best practices within an urgent care settingKnowledge of and skill in the use of personal computers and related systems and softwareAbility to work efficiently under pressureAbility to work independently and take initiativeAbility to willingly accept responsibilityAbility to set priorities and use good judgement
