The Raritan Bay Area YMCA has served the ever-evolving needs of our community since 1912. We are located just 5 miles west of New York City in the beautiful Waterfront City of Perth Amboy, NJ. The YMCA is dedicated to building strong kids, strong families, and strong communities through programs that develop the values of caring, honesty, respect, responsibility, and faith. We devotedly serve over 6,000 community participants and families in our community building initiatives through Healthy Living, Youth Development, and Social Responsibility. Under the direction of the Aquatics Director, the Aquatics Coordinator helps plan, develop, manage, coordinate and conduct aquatics programs including: 2nd Grade Swim, teaching and coordinating swimming lessons, maintaining aquatic facilities, training aquatic staff, implementing and conducting a diversified aquatics program and aquatics events, and performing other departmental activities as required.Essential Functions include:
- Safeguard the lives of our members and all pool participants first.
- Using excellent customer service skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with members, staff, visitors, and constituents of the YMCA.
- Supervise lifeguards, instructors, seasonal employees, and volunteers for the successful operation of the Y Aquatics Center.
Hours:This is a full-time position. 37.5 hours/week - must be flexible and able to work days and/or evenings and be available for weekends. The Raritan Bay Area YMCA offers an excellent benefit package which includes:

- Previous experience in Aquatics management, guarding, instructing, and running swim meets.
- Swim instruction experience preferred.
- Current First Aid, Lifeguard and CPR certification.
- Familiarity with all emergency management guidelines and direct application.
Salary Description $20.00/hour
