Job Description:
This position is responsible for developing, organizing and implementing aquatic programs and maintaining a safe, hazard-free aquatics environment. This position supervises staff and volunteers and may manage community and vendor agreements and relationships.Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in recreation, business, human services, social services, related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Two to four years of experience in program management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency.
  • Two years of aquatics related work experience.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Demonstrated computer skills in a Microsoft Office or Google Workspace environment.
  • Ability to direct programs through supervision of staff and volunteers, development and monitoring of budgets, marketing and public relations, program development and fund-raising.
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.
  • Current Red Cross Lifeguard Certifications or equivalent - prior to starting if hired.
  • Additional training to be completed within the first 30 days and maintained afterwards.Physical Requirements:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.     • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust.Work Environment:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. This position usually works in an office, fitness, and/or aquatic oriented environment, but the mission of the organization may sometimes take them to non-standard workplaces. This position works a standard work week, but additionally will often work evening, weekend, and additional hours to accommodate management of program activities and representation of the organization at events. #J-18808-Ljbffr
