Additional certification in lifeguarding and first aid are preferred. Must have instructional experience in water safety classes and other aquatics programs. STATE REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS: None PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Work may involve periods of prolonged time in water while performing instructional duties. Work may involve exposure to swimming pool chemicals including chlorine, potential exposure to blood and body fluids at the scene of an injury or accident. Ability to perform the following stokes to American Red Cross Level Four standards: front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke, elementary backstroke, side stroke and butterfly. Must be able to maintain position on back for one (1) minute in deep water while floating or sculling. In addition, must be able to tread water continuously for one (1) minute. BASIC FUNCTION/NATURE OF WORK: Responsible for the delivery of water safety and swimming instruction to various groups including members of the community and PWCS students.
