AR Specialist Key Responsibilities:
- Manage customer onboarding and maintain accurate records, including updates to customer information such as name or address changes, mergers, or contact details.
- Provide monthly customer statements, as well as job-specific statements and invoice copies upon request.
- Accurately post customer payments and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Process Lien Waivers, Joint Check Agreements, and installment payment plans with approval from the AR Manager.
- Ensure all AR activities comply with departmental and company policies.
- Assist the AR Manager and Billing Lead in reconciling and maintaining the AR subledger.
- Review delinquent accounts to confirm that all reasonable collection efforts have been made before designating accounts as bad debt.
- Monitor aging balances and notify the AR Manager of potential issues.
- Assist with month-end close duties.
AR Specialist Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required; coursework or degree in accounting or finance preferred.
- Texas Notary Public certification, or willingness to obtain one, is required.
- Experience with cash application, interpreting credit reports, and familiarity with Texas Lien Laws is required.
- Experience with system implementation is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with staff at various levels and provide top-tier customer service.
