Responsibilities:
As an LOSC, you will play an important role in:
- Partnering with the local manager and arborist representatives to manage and develop the office safety program
- Providing safe on-site training, mentoring, and supervision of crew members of all skill levels
- Ensuring that each crew member is trained appropriately for each designated job assignment
- Conducting periodic crew, facility, and pesticide storage audits
- Ensuring that new employee orientations are conducted in a meaningful way
- Scheduling and conduct daily Tailgate Safety Meetings
- Ensuring that all tree care work is performed in accordance with industry and company standards
- Performing ground, tree climbing, and aerial lift duties in support of specific job assignments
- Safely performing all aspects of arboriculture, including:
- Tree identification
- Tree risk assessments
- Pruning
- Removals
- Cabling and bracing
- Root collar excavations
- Properly maintaining and operating tools and equipment (hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts)
- Learning, understanding, and adhering to all safety rules and company safety policies
Qualifications:
- At least five (5) years of experience in the tree care industry
- Valid driver's license (Class B CDL preferred)
- Ability to work outdoors year-round in all weather conditions
- Demonstrated ability to conduct group and individual training or prior crew leader experience
- Proven initiative, positive attitude, team-oriented, and self-motivated
- ISA Certified Arborist certification is preferred but not required
