Job DescriptionThis position is for a temporary hourly Archaeological Technician. The employee will be required to assist in the conduct of cultural resources pedestrian survey and in the documentation of cultural resources encountered as a result. The employee will take field notes, take clear and relevant photographs, complete state or agency cultural resource forms, and read maps. Close coordination with other technicians, the crew chief, and/or the field supervisor in the conduct of the work will be required.
Required QualificationsB.A. in anthropology, archaeology, or history. Have completed either an archaeological field school or cultural resources management internship. Able to recognize flaked stone and ground stone artifacts. Familiar with cultural resource site forms and associated documents. Must be able to read a map and/or use a GPS device. In good physical condition and able to walk in variable terrain for up to 8 hours. Must be able to have a flexible daily work schedule.HOURS / PAY$27.00 per hour, as needed
