Position PurposeThe Archery Specialist manages the archery program, fostering character development, skill building, peer mentoring, and good sportsmanship. This position is responsible for the entire archery area, equipment, and enforcing range safety.Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure safety in the archery area
  • Upkeep of archery equipment
  • Teach groups of campers skills and knowledge of archery
  • Foster character development consistent with BGCSF philosophy
  • Participate in all camp activities, such as: talent shows, camp fires, and flagpole
  • When not running programming engage with assigned tribe assume all responsibilities of a counselor, including overnight supervision of youth in cabins
  • Engage campers with a positive attitude, including participating in cheers, talent shows, and overnight hikes
  • Other duties as specified by direct supervisor
RequirementsRequired Skills
  • Minimum 4 years experience in youth development
  • Experience supervising/managing others
  • Experience working with youth from disadvantaged circumstances
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with coworkers and campers
  • Ability to handle difficult or stressful situations in a professional manner
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Desire to work outdoors 24/7
Preferred Skills
  • Experience working with youth in an overnight camp setting
  • Experience working with youth from disadvantaged circumstances
  • US Archery Certification
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs.
  • Must be able to walk on uneven terrain for at least 3 miles
  • Must be able to stand for 8 hours (with breaks)
  • Must be able to work in temperatures ranging from 30° to 100°
ScheduleTemporary/Seasonal position. Applicants should be available June 9 - August 6, 2025.LodgingLodging is provided for all staff on site. Archery specialists will sleep on bunk beds in open-air cabins while supervising youth overnight.Benefits

PayThe wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and BGCSF needs. At BGCSF, our decisions are based on other factors and dependent on circumstances for each position. Depending on the need and requirement of the position, an individual could be hired at or near the entry level, mid - level or top of the range for their role and compensation.
