What Your Day Could Consist Of: - Work as part of a collaborative, interdisciplinary team on all facets of projects, frequently involving sports/entertainment venues and integrated mixed-use development districts.
- Specific tasks will include preparing for and attending key client interviews, focus groups, and presentations as well as developing graphics and written content for a wide variety of design documents and publications.
- Assist in collaboratively reviewing and critiquing early phase design concepts.
- Assist in research and development projects as may be required by the office.
Requirements For Success: - Developed technical, analytical, design, graphics, and visualization skills in urban design.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- In-depth understanding of place-making and community-focused design, including the creation of complex urban design frameworks, built form and public realm plans, policies, and guidelines.
- Proficiency in industry standard 2D/3D software, including Revit, Rhino, Grasshopper, Sketch-Up, ArcGIS, PowerBi, Microsoft Office and all Adobe suite programs.
- Skilled in computational design modeling and creating solutions for complex architecture and urban planning through visual programming.
- Working knowledge of Python, Ruby, and Ladybug Tools / Climate Consultant considered an asset.
- Confident in delivering public presentations of design products and project descriptions.
- Capable of prioritizing tasks to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Maintains clear and effective communication with project team members.
- Builds positive, collaborative relationships with interdisciplinary teams and clients.
- Passionate about design and placemaking.
- Experience with coordinating or constructing physical models is an asset.
Essential Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree (required) in Architecture from an NAAB accredited program, master's degree in architecture (preferred).
- 3+ years of professional architectural experience specializing in urban design.
- Professional registration is preferred but not required.
Additional details: - Travel may be required.
- Occasional overtime may be required.
Compensation: - The projected salary range for this opportunity is $78,264 - $97,830 annually, and may be more or less depending on skills, experience and education.
