Basic Purpose of the Position
- The Manufacturing Engineering Draftsperson holds primary responsibility to prepare detailed architectural drawings of corporate facilities and equipment in CAD format.
- Responsible for field work to include measurement, verification, and sketching as required to prepare CAD drawings for Manufacturing Engineering capital projects.
- Responsible for conceptualization and production of primary CAD design drawings of all Manufacturing Engineering proposed facility construction, expansion, or renovation capital projects.
Major Areas of Responsibility
- Performs all drafting and CAD drawings detailing all new Evapco capital projects on a company-wide basis as directed by the Senior Engineer Manager.
- Responsible for tracking and filing of all drawings with proper nomenclature, drawing number, drawing title and drawing category (electrical, mechanical, layout, site, building etc.)
- Responsible for all official Evapco drawing documentation to be kept in computer memory and as hard copies to be kept on file and/or placed in plant equipment.
- Completes hand sketches, schematics, layouts, etc. and transposes them into CAD drawings.
- Performs field measuring of corporate facility building sites, corporate facilities, interior machinery layouts, and transposes them onto a CAD drawing with minimal supervision.
- Incorporate vendor supplied equipment sales or submittal drawings into new or existing corporate facility floor plans for review and installation pricing.
- Assists with Senior Engineering Managers duties to obtain budgetary construction pricing for all CAD designs and detailed building and equipment drawings.
- Responsible for maintaining Evapco standards for each project
- Must be willing to learn many different disciplines of Evapco manufacturing procedures and processes to be able to complete accurate and technically sound CAD drawings.
- Must be able to perform self-checks on work prior to finalizing drawings and prior to reviewing with Manufacturing Engineering management to assure accuracy and to help save design review time.
Requirements
- Three (3) years of experience with AutoCAD, formal training/drafting classes or equivalent work experience relating to manufacturing and office facility design and architectural drafting.
- Basic understanding of commercial general contracting practices.
- Working knowledge of the Microsoft office suite of products.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to interpret, understand, and work from architectural and engineering blueprint drawings.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
- Demonstrated time management and organizational skills.
- Detail-oriented with an ability to manage multiple tasks; work within time constraints; and shifting priorities is required.
- Must be a self-starter and be able to work alone with company provided tools.
- Ability and willingness to travel to all company facilities worldwide. Must be able to possess a valid passport.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Manufacturing environment with construction site, shop, and office presence
- Intermittent standing, squatting, bending, pulling, and lifting throughout the workday
- Infrequent lifting of 50 lbs. or less
- Wear proper PPE when required and obey all Safety regulations
- Standard working hours are 8:30 - 5:00, Monday - Friday
