Base Salary: $125,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.

Overview: The Area General Manager is responsible for overseeing the overall operations, sales, and marketing initiatives across multiple properties within the Central Coast of California. This leadership role requires a strategic focus on enhancing revenue streams, optimizing guest experiences, and ensuring operational excellence, all while fostering a positive work environment for team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Leadership:
    • Oversee day-to-day operations of multiple properties, ensuring adherence to company standards and policies.
    • Implement and maintain effective operational procedures that enhance efficiency, productivity, and guest satisfaction.
    • Collaborate with property managers to ensure that all locations meet financial and operational goals.
    • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including health and safety standards.
  • Revenue Management:
    • Monitor and optimize pricing strategies to maximize occupancy and revenue through collaboration with revenue management team.
    • Utilize data and analytics to forecast demand and adjust sales strategies accordingly.
    • Identify new revenue streams and implement initiatives to increase profitability.
  • Sales and Marketing Strategy:
    • Build and nurture relationships with local organizations, businesses, and community leaders to promote the properties as integral parts of the community.
    • Organize and participate in community events, sponsorships, and collaborations that align with the company's brand and values.
    • Leverage social media, local media, and grassroots marketing efforts to increase property visibility and attract both local residents and tourists.
    • Work closely with the corporate sales & marketing team to ensure community-based initiatives are integrated with overall brand strategies.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of property managers and support staff.
    • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
    • Ensure that all team members are trained and equipped to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
    • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to help team members grow in their roles.
  • Guest Experience:
    • Champion a guest-first culture, ensuring that all properties deliver outstanding service and memorable experiences.
    • Address and resolve guest complaints or issues in a timely and professional manner.
    • Implement initiatives to enhance guest satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Financial Management:
    • Prepare and manage budgets, ensuring that financial targets are met.
    • Monitor financial performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
    • Oversee purchasing, cost control, and inventory management to optimize profitability.
  • Community and Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with local communities, business partners, and stakeholders.
    • Represent Highway West Vacations in community events and industry associations.
    • Collaborate with local tourism boards and other organizations to promote the region as a destination.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in hospitality management, with a strong emphasis on operations, sales, and marketing.
  • Proven track record of managing multiple properties or large-scale operations in the hospitality industry.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed business decisions.
  • Proficient in using hospitality management software, CRM systems, and digital marketing tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Central Coast California market is a plus.
