If you're ready to make a significant impact, we want to hear from you!Location:Chittenango, NYShift:Off-Shift (Nights&Weekends)Employment Type:Full-TimeSalary:$90k+, but will be evaluated depending on candidates' knowledge, skills, and abilities.What You'll Do:Staffing&Team DevelopmentStaffing Strategy:Determine optimal staffing levels for manufacturing areas to ensure efficiency and productivity.Leadership Development:Develop and mentor off-shift supervisors and operators to build a high-performing team.Continuous Improvement:Foster a well-trained workforce with a strong focus on continuous improvement and performance management.HR Policies:Ensure adherence to HR policies and practices, and handle discipline issues effectively.Quality AssuranceProcess Improvement:Adhere to and enhance processes that guarantee the production of quality alloys used in aerospace parts.Standardization:Ensure standardized work procedures are in place and followed to maintain high quality.Defect Prevention:Implement measures to prevent defects and minimize scrap.Technical Expertise:Build your technical knowledge to support key process parameters and lead systematic problem-solving efforts.Productivity EnhancementProduction Goals:Oversee off-shift production goals and metrics, driving improvements quarter over quarter.Continuous Improvement:Lead and implement continuous improvement initiatives on the off shift.Resource Planning:Collaborate with the maintenance department for preventive maintenance and plan resources for new products.Cost ManagementCapital Equipment Proposals:Propose equipment needs for capital projects and participate in project implementation.Cost-Effective Solutions:Identify problems and implement cost-effective solutions to drive variable cost improvements.Safety FirstAccident Investigation:Partner with our EHS staff to ensure proper completion of Accident Investigation forms and implement safety countermeasures.Safety Training:Oversee safety training programs and adhere to all safety policies and procedures.Champion Safety:Model and champion safe behaviors, respect for the environment, and 6S practices on the off shift.MiscellaneousFlexibility:Be prepared to work nights and weekends as needed.Reliability:Demonstrate strong attendance and reliability in all aspects of the role.What We're Looking ForEducation:Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related fieldExperience:5+ years of experience in a manufacturing supervisory role, preferably in a foundry using vacuum induction melting process.Leadership Skills:Strong leadership capabilities with a track record of developing and motivating teams.Technical Knowledge:Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control, and continuous improvement methodologies.Safety Orientation:Commitment to safety practices and procedures, with experience in accident investigation and safety training.Problem-Solving Abilities:Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to implement cost-effective solutions.This individual should of the ability to grow into a VP/General Manager role in 2-3 years!Why Join Us?Innovative Environment:Work in a state-of-the-art melt shop.Growth Opportunities:Be part of a company that values continuous improvement and offers career development opportunities.Competitive Benefits:Enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vison insurance, retirement plans, bonuses and more.If you're ready to take your career to new heights and lead a team to success, apply now to become our Area Manufacturing Manager!About Us:Superior Metals Manufacturing (SMM) is a Consolidated Precision Products (CPP) company.
