Job Description Rogers Group, Inc., headquartered in Nashville, is a privately held aggregates and asphalt highway construction company operating in 11 states with over 3,000 employees. RGI, established in 1908, has the distinction of being recognized as the largest privately held aggregate producer in the United States. Rogers Group is currently seeking an Area Sales Manager for our Alabama SMA to manage sales activity, growth and three to four sales employees. The primary product line is crushed stone in Northern Alabama across the Huntsville to Muscle Shoals area, including areas in the Mid-Eastern portion of Mississippi. The position reports to the Aggregates General Manager. The successful candidate for this role will have an uncompromising focus on safety, ethics, and quality. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Establishing sales goals and objectives and formulating strategies to achieve these objectives both individually and as a team.
- Establishing annual business plans by implementing marketing strategies and analyzing trends and results.
- Developing strong relationships with key customers in all segments while balancing chain of command.
- Maximizing margins by managing sales volume and pricing, product mix, and by keeping current with supply and demand trends, economic indicators, and competitors.
- Seek product and market expansion opportunities that lead to increased profitability.
- Utilizing production scheduling tools to maximize efficiency and manage inventory balance.
- Assisting with market due diligence on prospective acquisition targets.
- Provides support and guidance to sales staff and customer service representatives through coaching and training.
- Maintaining professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies and community efforts.
- Contributing to team effort by working closely with production and quality to maximize efficiency at our plants, service to our customers, and profitability.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of sales experience in the aggregates industry.
- 5+ years in a regional sales or account manager role.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Proven sales, negotiation, and customer relations skills.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, or related discipline.
