The Area Sales Manager is responsible to develop and foster business through pro-active direct sales, marketing, and solicitation for various or specific market segments for assigned properties. Qualification Summary:Required Experience and Education: Minimum two years sales experience in hospitality or two years of progressive experience in a hotel environment Proficient in Microsoft Office or similar computer applications Preferred Experience and Education: Two years prior hotel sales or catering manager experience High-school diploma or GED, preferred a bachelor's degree or two years of hospitality experience and an associate's degree Experience with Delphi FDC or Sales Pro Experience with brand's PMS and sales related applications Travel: Up to 50% travel requirement and travel between properties as needed. Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation Physical: Frequent sitting, standing, and moving about the facilities. Handling objects, products and equipment. Using keyboards and other office computer equipment. Occasionally push, pull and lift items weighing up to 25 pounds. Must communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must observe details at close range. Other: Must speak English fluently. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills. Mathematical skills include basic math, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages and variances. Problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational and training abilities are often used.
