Job Description:
Saint Anselm College is seeking an Arena Facility & Operations Specialist for the Thomas F. Sullivan Arena, the College's multi-purpose events venue. The arena houses the ice rink, which is home to our varsity ice hockey teams, College club ice hockey teams, intramural ice hockey program, and numerous high school and youth ice hockey teams and figure skating clubs. This position is full-time, 40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year. Hours include days, evenings/nights (including some late shifts), some weekends, some holidays, and occasional mandatory overtime. Duties: Welcome all customers with a friendly and professional manner Responsible for maintaining a safe, hazard-free environment for users Operate the ice resurfacer in a safe and dependable manner Responsible for regular ice maintenance including but not limited to flooding, edging and chipping Responsible for taking timely and accurate readings on equipment Perform scheduled maintenance on ice resurfacer and edger as directed Responsible for maintenance, custodial and janitorial duties throughout the facility Set up/breakdown tables, chairs, staging, pipe and drape, for special events Responsible for ensuring all work is performed in accordance with policies and procedures Responsible for opening and locking up facility properly, depending upon assigned shift. Responsible for following operations schedule during assigned shift Any other activities as directed by supervisorsDuties also include light mechanical tasks, clearing snow and ice from entrances, working in a noisy and/or cold environment, and some moderate lifting.Required Skills:Ability to interact with a variety of individuals in a courteous manner and to provide quality customer service required. Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.Previous Zamboni or similar mechanical experience/ background highly desirable. High School graduate or equivalent, with related experience required.Successful candidates will be able to assist the college to further its strategic goals for institution-wide diversity and inclusiveness.
