Sundog Theatre, founded in 2002, is a Staten Island-based not-for-profit performing arts organization with an excellent reputation for delivering arts education programs in over 50 schools; offering original and contemporary theatre; touring theatrical productions for young people; and providing acting classes for children. This program, unique to NYC, is poised to be a model for additional schools that wish to use theatre and the arts to increase literacy scores and make learning more interactive and engaging. With the support of the Dept. of Education, funders, and political officials, Sundog s program is on track to be at the forefront of this method in NYC. We are looking for someone qualified and invested in ushering in new ways of approaching education through the arts to help change lives through transformational programming. Since Sundog is growing, there is room for advancement within the company as this position will ultimately transition to Arts Education Manager. www.SundogTheatre.org

Sample comments from school principals about Sundog s arts education programs:

Sundog s programs contribute to academic growth, a more highly motivated student body, a drop in absenteeism, and the development of a genuine sense of community among students, teachers, and administration. This partnership has contributed to our school earning an A on its Report card for three consecutive years.

They have our absolute highest recommendation for producing high-quality arts instruction and for giving students and their families a real avenue for expression through the arts. Bravo!

In each residency the culminating projects/performances are outstanding. It s amazing to see what the students have learned, to share their talents & their strengths, and to help our own staff observe how to effectively implement art strands into our Curriculum. I highly recommend Sundog Theatre and want to continue our partnership with them.

Sundog s contribution to our Arts program has added immense value and experiences for our students that wouldn t be possible otherwise without their services and support. We re immensely grateful for this partnership and truly value their professionalism and the quality of service we receive from Sundog for the betterment of our students.
