Overview:
A sweet family of five located in Purchase, NY is seeking a live-out afternoon nanny/family assistant to help with their three children, aged 5.5, 4, and 2. All three children attend school full-time, and the schedule for this role will be Monday through Friday, 3 or 4pm-8pm. These hours are required, but the family is also offering additional optional hours in the morning or weekend. The optional hours are Monday through Friday, 6:30-8:30am, and/or hours on Saturday. This is a busy and dynamic household- the family's elderly grandmother lives with them, as does a teenage relative who doesn't require care.
Responsibilities:
- Pick up children from school and transport them to and from extracurriculars
- Family laundry
- Dinner preparation (ideally simple meals for the entire family, though children's meal preparation is the priority)
- Manage household inventory and purchase necessary supplies
- Order groceries
- Supervise dinner and bedtime routines
- Occasionally stay for a date night if available
- Actively engage with children through play, reading, and creative activities
Qualifications:
- Active and energetic, and able to keep up with two very active boys
- Intellectually curious with the desire to really interact with the children
- Firm and kind with the ability to enforce boundaries
- Nurturing and loving
- Mature and seasoned with common sense- both parents have demanding jobs and need someone who can come in and handle the household
- Looking for a long-term commitment with a great family
Requirements:
- A valid driver's license and clean record (the family will provide a car for work use)
- Swimming is NOT required, but would be a bonus
- Willing to work in a busy household with family members present
- Ability and willingness to work with a friendly 10lb dog
- Experience working with multiple preschool/elementary school aged children
- Willingness to travel in the future is NOT required but would be a bonus
