A Snapshot of Your Day

The ASME Welder is responsible for the welding, grinding,assembly, quality and inspection of a wide variety of parts for compressors andassociated components. This position requires sound judgment in the selectionof proper tips for welding or cutting, and in the selection of welding rods.The successful candidate will maintain ASME Code quality and produce x-rayquality welds. As a welder with Siemens-Energy you will be responsible forcompleting multiple part setups, welding and grinding the parts to completionfor one of our critical part families!

How You'll Make an Impact

· Weldand braze a variety of parts per ASME BPVC Division 1 Sections VIII and IX.Code stamp not required.

· Performwelding of steel, alloy steel, and stainless steel in positions 1G, 2G, and 3G;Follow established weld procedure specification (WPS) documents, includingpreheat, amps, volts, and gas coverage.

· Maintainoperating condition of wire feeder, gas mixture and welding gun and/or torches;Contour completed welds using a die grinder.

· Useburning and air arc equipment to repair defective areas such as blow and sandholes in cast steel.

· Beable to SMAW or GTAW pipe in 6G position, and weld in flow channels using amirror is strongly preferred; Be proficient in oxyacetylene, electric welding,tungsten inert gas, mig welding, brazing, silver soldering, shrinking, orsweating is also preferred.

· Workingfrom shop prints without instructions properly layout, mark, hand torch cut,prepare joints, fixture, and tack weld in place a variety of code and non-codework of the highest complexity; Keep work area clean, orderly, and safe.

What You Bring

· Musthave a High School Diploma or GED that can be verified.

· 1-3 years welding experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

· Mustbe willing to work 3rd shift and be flexible enough to work 1st or 2nd shift onoccasion as business requires.

· Mustdemonstrate the ability to read and interpret blueprints and have math skillsto take precise measurements and make calculations.

· Familiaritywith Microsoft Office Suite, with basic to intermediate computer skills andhave a general knowledge and understanding of welding multiple materials.

· Strongoral and written communication skills, and problem-solving skills totroubleshoot issues that arise during the manufacturing process is required;displays a demeanor conducive to progress through positive change, continuousimprovement, and active contributor by being a great teammate.

Specific offers are determined by variousfactors, such as experience, skills, certifications, and other business needs.Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensationdepends on each individual's qualifications.
