As an Asphalt Mill Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining asphalt milling equipment to remove old or damaged asphalt surfaces efficiently and safely. You will play a crucial role in preparing surfaces for asphalt paving and ensuring the quality of the final product. Responsibilities:
  • Operate asphalt milling machines and related equipment to remove old asphalt layers and prepare surfaces for repaving.
  • Follow all safety protocols, procedures, and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment for yourself and your colleagues.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on milling equipment, such as greasing, cleaning, and minor repairs, to ensure optimal performance.
  • Monitor the milling process to ensure that the depth and width of the milling cut meet project specifications and quality standards.
  • Assist in the transportation milling machine as needed.
  • Collaborate with the milling crew and other team members to coordinate work activities and ensure efficient project execution.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, work performed, and any issues encountered during milling operations.
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience operating asphalt milling equipment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of asphalt paving and construction processes is an asset.
  • Must be able to travel throughout Minnesota, North and South Dakota
  • Regular, consistent attendance and regular overtime at all assigned job sites
  • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to perform basic equipment maintenance.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy equipment parts and materials.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. (Preferably Class A CDL)
  • Acceptable motor vehicle record
  • Safety-conscious with a commitment to following all safety procedures.
The work environment for this position includes outdoor work in various weather conditions. It may require physical exertion, exposure to dust, noise, and potential hazards associated with construction sites. Benefits:
