The Assembler 101 employee is responsible for the efficient and accurate assembly and installation of all components required for the final assembly of aircraft seating. This role involves interpreting and working from verbal instructions, work orders, technical drawings, pick sheets, and Bills of Materials. The employee will ensure all adjustments, alignments, and corrections are made to comply with quality and specification standards.
What You Will Do:
* Precision Assembly: Perform detailed sub-assembly and component assembly operations to completely assemble high-quality aircraft seating.
* Comprehensive Documentation: Utilize pick sheets, trim and finish drawings, work orders, and non-conformance reports (NCRs) to efficiently and accurately assemble all components, following verbal instructions as needed.
* Technical Proficiency: Set up and operate various fixtures, jigs, and testing equipment required for the precise manufacture of aircraft seating.
* Quality Assurance: Conduct final checks and adjustments to ensure proper functional operation of details, components, and completed seat assemblies.
* Technical Interpretation: Read and interpret technical drawings to determine layouts, organize sequences of operations, and ensure adherence to specifications.
* Material Handling: Move materials and completed products to and from work positions, ensuring a smooth workflow.
* Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records and generate reports in accordance with work performance requirements, including adherence to accepted test procedures and test reports.
* Production Excellence: Consistently meet or exceed production and quality standards.
* Workplace Safety: Maintain a clean and safe work area, promptly reporting any discrepancies to management.
* Field Repairs: Detect and resolve problems, making field repairs to seats after installation in aircraft or at customers' premises as needed.
* Professional Representation: Represent Collins in a professional and businesslike manner at all times, upholding the company's standards and reputation.
Typical Tools and Equipment Involved:
* Pop guns, drill motors, countersinks, reamers, sanders, wrenches, screwdrivers, hammers, pliers, punches, tape measures and any other hand tool required in the assembly of aircraft seating.

Qualification You Must Have:
* HS Diploma. In the absence of a HS diploma or GED, 2 years of relevant experience is required.
* Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. Collins Aerospace will not offer sponsorship for this position.
Qualifications We Prefer:
* Prior manufacturing experience
* An understanding of data collection devices and their proper usage.
* An understanding of computers and the ability to enter and retrieve data from PCs as required.
Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.
