Start the next chapter of your career with Crane Aerospace & Electronics!Job Summary:The Assembler I works under supervision performing assigned assembly processes to manufactureCrane Aerospace & Electronics products in accordance with military and/or other assembly standardsusing visual aids, verbal and/or written instructions.Essential Functions:Perform assigned assembly tasksPrepare components prior to assembly, clean components, mark, and inspect components, subassemblies, or completed assembliesTest finished assembliesSet up and operate assigned equipment and machineryObserve proper health and safety procedures in handling hazardous chemicalsIdentify and report to lead or supervisor any difficulty which would affect the correctness and quality of the work in processParticipate in cleaning of area and machinery and take part in team meetings for improvementCross-train to work on at least 2 productsComplete job-related company training coursesSupport Crane Business System (CBS) initiatives including 5S, KPI's, Standard Work, ProblemSolving, and other initiatives as they ariseFlexible and willing to work overtime if necessaryAny other task assigned by supervisor or managementNon-Essential Functions:Understand and/or participate with internal/external auditsPerform inventory cycle countsMay be required to repair/rework defective or returned assembliesMinimum Qualifications:Experience: 0-2 years of Assembly experience in a manufacturing environmentKnowledge: Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goodsSkills: Strong verbal and written communication; Proficiency in reading comprehension (understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents) of the English language; Basic computer skills (understanding of basic software)Abilities: Accurate color vision, near vision, and depth perception and other vision capabilities required; Manipulative skills, including finger and manual dexterity; Adept handeye coordination and arm-hand steadiness; Ability to thoroughly interpret production or engineering prints, production planning information and assembly aids such as illustrations and wiring diagrams; Ability to work well in a moderate to high paced work environment in a high volume settingEducation/Certification: High School diploma or equivalentEligibility Requirement:This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US Persons will be considered.
