Location/Division Specific Information:Our Hillsboro site produces world-class electron microscopes used by scientists and engineers to drive innovation around the globe. This role works to produce-high quality components used in the world's finest tools used by researchers like Nobel prize winners and the teams who imaged the COVID-19 virus!How Will You Make an Impact?:Thermo Fisher Scientific Hillsboro campus is on the cutting edge of global technology in pursuit of enabling our customers to make the world a Healthier, Cleaner and Safer place.A Day in the Life:
- Conduct assembly, alignments, and final configurations of components.
- Conduct assembly work applying prescribed methods using a variety of hand tools, fixtures, and test equipment.
- Collect test data, use databases and other office programs to document the manufacturing process.
- Participate in resolving production challenges and making process decisions.
- Assist in the selection and/or set-up of specialized equipment.
- Perform a wide variety of troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues.
- Perform equipment set-up, calibration, and preventative maintenance.
- Follow audit and safety guidelines.
- Participate in continuous process improvement.
Education:High school diploma or equivalent required.Experience:
- 1 year of manufacturing or mechanical assembly experience required.
- Background in precision mechanical assembly and low-volume, sophisticated manufacturing processes required.
- Experience in lean manufacturing, 6S and continuous improvement a plus.
- Previous assembly experience in a Clean Room environment is a plus.
- Experience with Windows-based and MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Division-Specific Outlook and Access).
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:- Demonstrated ability in efficiently working in a Team of 8-10 colleagues.
- Ability to analyze and address problems independently as well as collaboratively.
- Ability to support projects, perform training and work efficiently as part of cohesive teams.
- Self-motivated, self-starter with strong organizational skills.
Physical Requirements / Work Environment- Ability to lift-up to 35lbs.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, successful in partnering with colleagues of differing cultural, language, and educational backgrounds.
- Ability to work in appropriate PPE.
What We OfferCompensation- Competitive Hourly Pay Rate : $23/Hr
- Additional shift differential for 2nd shift and 3rd shift positions
