Job Description:

Assembler Experience: 5-10 years of relevant experience Schedule: Full-time (Shift details may vary) Pay Rate: $22 per hour

Position Summary:

The Mechanical Assembly Technician will perform repetitive mechanical assembly tasks, requiring precise and dexterous hand movements to ensure quality and efficiency. This role involves assembling and testing mechanical or electrical components using hand tools, power tools, and equipment. The position requires attention to detail, a focus on safety, and adherence to quality standards.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Assembly & Testing:

    • Assemble and test mechanical or electrical components according to clear instructions.
    • Assemble minor variations of in-house standard products.
    • Use hand tools, power tools, jigs, and fixtures for assembly tasks.
    • Perform tasks such as color coding, PVC thermal welding, and thread taping.
  • Safety & Quality:

    • Follow all workplace safety policies and guidelines.
    • Complete site-specific safety and quality training.
    • Conduct daily housekeeping and 5S audits to ensure continuous improvement in the work area.
  • Documentation & Reporting:

    • Enter work hours into the ERP system (SAP).
    • Complete and maintain production-related documentation.
  • Continuous Improvement:

    • Participate in and drive continuous improvement processes.
    • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Customer Service:

    • Meet the needs and expectations of internal and external customers.
Position Requirements:
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED (required).

  • Knowledge & Experience:

    • 5-10 years of mechanical assembly experience or demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
    • Experience in high school or technical school coursework related to mechanical or electrical assembly.
    • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and jigs for assembly and testing.
  • Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to sit, stand, hear, and see on a constant basis.
    • Ability to walk, write, and type frequently.
    • Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
    • Ability to climb stairs and occasionally bend, carry, reach, push, and pull.
    • Exposure to heat (up to 120 F) and cold (down to 0 F).
    • May work in areas with noise levels requiring hearing protection and exposure to dust and dirt.
    • Work surfaces may include concrete.
  • Communication Skills:

    • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
    • Must be able to operate a computer and communicate via telephone.

  • Mechanical Aptitude: Proven ability to perform assembly tasks requiring precision and sensitive hand coordination.
  • Tool Proficiency: Experience with hand tools, power tools, and jigs for mechanical assembly.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to read and understand layout and assembly drawings.
