Position Summary:The Assembler will perform repetitive mechanical assembly tasks, involving sensitive or precise dexterous movements to maintain the quality and pace of assembly work. This role requires the use of simple hand and power tools, as well as equipment coordination to assemble and test mechanical or electrical components. Successful candidates will follow detailed instructions, ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts within the team.
Core Responsibilities and Tasks:Assembly and Testing:
- Assemble and test mechanical or electrical components, following clear assembly/test instructions, including color coding, PVC thermal welding, and thread taping.
Component Handling:- Receive components or items for assembly and/or testing, ensuring they are assembled in the correct sequence as per production requirements.
Tool Usage:- Use simple hand and power tools, as well as uncomplicated jigs and fixtures, to complete assembly tasks efficiently and accurately.
Documentation:
- Complete required documentation related to production and testing, ensuring accurate records are maintained.
Continuous Improvement:- Participate in continuous improvement activities, including conducting daily housekeeping/5S audits to maintain workplace standards and improve processes.
Safety and Quality Compliance:- Adhere to all workplace safety guidelines and product quality standards, completing site-specific training as required.
Customer Focus:- Take care of both internal and external customer needs and expectations by ensuring quality work and adherence to timelines.
Drawing Interpretation:- Read and understand simple layout and assembly drawings to ensure accuracy in the assembly process.
Work Area Maintenance:- Maintain a clean and safe work area, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored.
Position Requirements:Formal Education:- High School Diploma or GED.
Knowledge & Experience:- Mechanical aptitude, which can be evidenced through prior work experience, coursework, hobbies, or technical school education. 5-10 years of relevant experience is preferred.
