**Job Description**

**Essential Duties & Responsibilities:**

* Plans assembly procedures, following specifications and work instructions

* Removes small quantities of metal to clean parts or to produce close fit between parts

* Ability to use assorted hand tools as well as power tools such as a drill press, grinder, TIG Welder, saw, pneumatic fasteners, overhead hoists, forklifts, etc.

* Must be able to accurately read and interpret measuring devices including but not limited to tape measures, calipers, and micrometers

* Grinds / finishes steel surfaces

* Drills, taps, or reams holes

* Aligns components and bolts, screws, or rivets them together

* Fabricates small parts such as brackets and covers of various materials including steel and plastic

* Installs moving parts such as shafts, levers, sprockets, or bearings and works them to test alignment and free movement

* Bends and installs pipe for conduit

* Runs electrical wiring and pneumatic tubing

* Aligns and meshes gears in gearbox to assemble systems of gears

* Tests or assists in testing operation of completed product

* Has a focus on personal safety as well as the safety of others around them; actively participates on assigned safety team

* Performs additional duties as required by supervisor

**Qualifications**

**Requirements:**

* High School Diploma or GED

* 2 years of custom equipment building and/or training, or 2 years of Peerless production experience

* Ability to read and comprehend blue prints, simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos

* Basic mathematical skills

* Basic communication skills

* Formal trades training and/or experience to demonstrate mechanical aptitude

**Physical Requirements**

* Use hands to handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms,

* Frequently required to walk

* Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk, and hear

* Must be able to physically perform (stand, pivot, lean, stoop, lift up to 50 pounds) as job assignment requires

* Must be able to climb stairs and ladders

* Must be able to stand up to 4 hours without formal breaks

* Must be able to work in non-air conditioned environment

* Must be able to safely work an overhead crane

* must be able to drive a forklift truck

* Must be able to furnish required hand tools for their role. (A list of tools is available upon request.)
