Job Summary for Assembler: Assembles a variety of products. Fits and/or assembles, adjusts and repairs subassemblies and major assemblies. Job complexity ranges from simple, repetitive tasks to fairly repetitive but difficult tasks depending upon product. Requires use of a wide range of hand and power tools both electrical and mechanical. Essential Duties and Responsibilities for Assembler:
- Review work orders or blueprints to ensure work are performed according to specifications.
- Visually or metrically inspects assembly for conformance to instructions.
- Repeats actions for all of the same product type each time assembled.
- Follows oral/written instructions to connect two or more parts of a product.
Non-essential Duties for Assembler:
- Communicates with supervisor and other assemblers.
- Assists in other production areas as needed.
- Accurately completes daily labor card and submits at conclusion of shift.
- Follows all safety procedures.
Requirements Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities for Assembler:
- Reads and accurately interprets blueprints
- Possesses basic technical knowledge of hand and power tools and their safe operation
- Able to position and manipulate parts and assemblies with the hands demonstrating manual dexterity
- Able to follow directions precisely and perform repetitive tasks
- Ability to comprehend and initiate solutions to complications as they arise.
Experience and Education for Assembler:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1 - 2 years manufacturing experience
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements for Assembler:
- Machine shop work environment; dust, grease and metal shavings common.
- Requires the use of the following personal protective equipment when on the shop floor:
- Safety glasses, steel toed shoes/boots.
Must Be Able To:
- Work safely in a fast paced environment
- Work overtime, including weekends as requested.
