Job Title: Light Industrial - Assembler Duration: 6+ months with (possible extension) Work Location: 1500 Meriden Rd Waterbury, CT 06705 Shift: (Monday - Friday) ( 7AM-3:30PM)POSITION SUMMARY:
- Assemble electro-mechanical products used in various customer applications by working from manufacturing procedures, method sheets, engineering prints, engineers bill of materials, and other technical documents. This position prepares sub-assemblies, final assemblies, electronic, electrical and mechanical sub-assemblies, final assemblies, and after assemblies in their entirety.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work under general direction of the department supervisor and/or cell leader with a minimum of supervision following processes and procedures
- Assemble individual electro-mechanical components as required
- Manual holding, or control of components required during operation.
- Work also may be washed in solution, pressure tested or repaired by hand.
- Work from drawings, blueprints, sketches, verbal or written instruction, work orders, process sheets.
- Execute material handling procedures for work order processing and inventory floor stock maintenance.
- Obtain parts and materials as instructed or as necessary or required to execute material handling procedures.
- Prepare finished work for shipment or storage as instructed or required.
- Perform alignment or adjustments. Manually using various type special hand tools, if required, until exacting specifications are realized.
- Report defective materials, scrap, production problems, or any other unusual condition or circumstance to supervisor immediately.
- Maintain personal production and quality standards as determined by supervision.
- Responsible for product quality and production quantity - work must be inspected to ensure conformity to specifications and quality standards before, during, and after completion
- Report defects, scrap, and/or production problems immediately to the Cell Leader and/or Supervisor
- Maintain records and other pertinent data as instructed or required.
- Follow standard practices and procedures as outlined by policy.
- Follow all safety regulations.
- Maintain area in a clean and orderly condition
- Cross-train and work in other assembly areas
- Perform similar and other related duties as instructed or required.
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to three years manufacturing experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Versatility required to perform many and varied other assembly and soldering operations manually.
- Must have reasonable dexterity in hands to manipulate small parts.
- Ability to read blueprints required
Additional Characteristics:
- This position works as both an individual contributor and in a team environment
- This position required the ability to lift 20-50 lbs. occasionally, 10-25 lbs. frequently, and up to 10 lbs. constantly.
- This position may require standing and/or sitting for long periods of time, up to 8 hours per day
- This position required good manually dexterity and visual acuity
- This position will require the use of a variety of equipment including hand tools and calibrated measuring equipment in the normal performance of their jobs such as, but not limited to: calipers, plug gauges, drop indicators, force gauges, torque measuring screwdrivers, oscilloscope, dial gauges, torque wrenches, micrometers, and specially designed PMT manufacturing measuring equipment.
- This position may be exposed to various industrial cleaning chemicals and oils.
