Assembler - Job Summary: This position performs a variety of routine and highly repetitive assembly and/or packing operations. Responsibilities and Duties: Perform pre-assembly and electro-mechanical assembly from individual components and sub-assemblies using detailed verbal or written instructions. Use a variety of hand tools, simple measuring devices and operate simple machining equipment in an effective and efficient manner. Inspect work for quality of workmanship. Resolve problems. Recognize errors and correct or seek appropriate assistance. May give simple work instructions to other Assemblers as requested. Ensure that acceptable housekeeping practices are followed. Maintain accurate work records. Understand and follow applicable Company practices, policies and procedures. Qualifications and Skills: Prior manufacturing assembly experience desired. Related work experience with a successful work record desired. Working knowledge of basic reading and math skills. Basic knowledge of manufacturing and quality processes. Versatility in order to perform a variety of operations. Ability to read and interpret prints, drawings, process sheets and other visual aids. Ability to resolve problems. Ability to use hand and power tools. Ability to use measuring instruments. Ability to perform work in a quality and timely manner. Physical Demands: (with or without reasonable accommodations) Bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, twisting, stretching, prolonged sitting and/or standing. Lifting or transporting light to heavy items (up to 50 lbs). Repetitive motions. Ability to apply mental processes, in order to understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions. Ability to tolerate fumes, odors and noise. Visual acuity. Must be able to distinguish full range of colors. Ability to adapt to change. May require use of microscope. Simple machine equipment.
