CEM Machine, Inc., located in Carthage, NY., is an essential employer that manufactures large disc woodchippers that primarily support pulp and paper industries across the United States and internationally.We have opened up an assembler position that is needing to be filled.Responsibilities include:Works respectfully and civilly with others. Follow safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment Maintains assembly area by keeping both clean and organized. Assembles components according to detailed engineering drawings, ensuring accuracy and adherence to specifications. Building of shipping boxes and shipping skids for overseas and domestic shipments Use of power tools and hand tools to complete tasks Comprehends engineering drawings, tolerancing, symbols and technical specifications Follows all production routings Trained in proper inspection and mounting of bearings. Trained to operate all company lifting cranes and in proper rigging of heavy parts/machines Forklift operating Assists the machinist and operators with the set-up of heavy and large parts in the large machine area Measures and examines components to ensure conformance to specifications prior to and after assembly Fills out inspection reports when required Experience: - Previous experience in an assembler or in a machine shop is preferred - Familiarity with operating forklifts is a plus - Mechanical knowledge and ability to troubleshoot issuesSkills: - Proficient in using power tools and hand tools - Ability to read and interpret technical drawings - Strong attention to detail and quality control - Good communication skills to work effectively with team membersWe offer a competitive benefits package and opportunities for career growth within the company. Must be able to operate overhead cranes, and magnetic lifts to maneuver parts. Must have the ability to operate hand/power tools. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Must be able to frequently ascend and descend from different work surfaces. Must be able to work in a noisy environment.
