We have an outstanding Contract position for anAssemblerto join a leading Company located in theSterling, VAsurrounding area.As an Assembler, you will be responsible for all activities related to the assembly of electronic components for selected programs.Responsibilities :Non-repetitive assembly operationsWorking from diagrams and drawingsMechanical assemblySoldering to J-STD-001 standardsBuilding prototype assembliesCable assemblyCircuit board assemblyComplex wiringUsing hand and power toolsUsing manufacturing software and Microsoft Office for work documentationDiligent documentation for future buildsBasic Hiring Criteria :High School diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 1 year of prior relevant experienceMust have J-STD-001 and IPC620 soldering Certification or ability to obtain (position contingent on obtaining)Minimum 2 to 5 years of experience in building cables; know how to read drawings and cable run sheets using hand crimp tools, DMC, Molex, Terminal lug crimper, Tyco, Hirose, JST tool, and BNC crimperMinimum 2 to 5 years of experience in soldering PC board surface mount and through-hole components and Mil ConnectorDesired Qualifications :Current J-STD-001 soldering Certification (not required)Rework experienceAbility to work and learn in a team environmentAbility to work with functional departmentsExperience with soldering and assembling electronics/electronics components and familiarity with electronic assembly industry standards, including ESD practices and proceduresAbility to interpret drawings and follow written instructionsProficient in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, etc)Costpoint experience is a plusAbility to follow safety protocolsAbility to maneuver 25 lbs with assistanceExperience in defense contracting environment with multiple ongoing projects/contractsMust have knowledge of the industry of electronicMust be familiar with connector, Molex, Tyco, AMP, Cannon, JST, Hirose, Mil-spec, Cannon etcVEVRAA Federal Contractor / Request Priority Protected Veteran Referrals / Equal Opportunity Employer / Veterans / DisabledTo read our Candidate Privacy Information Statement, which explains how we will use your information, please visit Company will consider qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and/or security clearance requirements, including, as applicable:The California Fair Chance ActLos Angeles City Fair Chance OrdinanceLos Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for EmployersSan Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance
