ATS Scientific Products has an opening for an
Assembler to join the team! The Assembler will assemble electrical apparatus control equipment and their subassemblies under general supervision while following drawings procedures and other written documentation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES - Reviews and follows basic electrical drawings routers and work orders as guidelines for assembly and installation of components Secures assistance when required to interpret drawings or other documentation for completing a job
- Uses various hand power and bench tools in the assembly and testing of equipment and assemblies
- Drills and taps holes to mount objects such as electrical boxes and conduit
- Measures cuts and bends conduit
- Pulls wiring through conduit and wire ways
- Connects wiring to motors valves and other components
- Cuts wires to length prepares and terminates wire harnesses Cuts drills and fits brackets and supports for electrical enclosures
- Configures and fabricates panel layouts including drilling tapping and punching of holes with knockout punch
- Utilizes various types of material handling equipment including hand trucks carts fork trucks scissor lifts etc where required and available
- Completes paperwork accurately and timely as is required in the manufacturing process including but not limited to Time and Attendance Sheets and Nonconformance Reports Cleans prepares and packages equipment for shipment
- Follows all safety policies precautions recommendations and procedures as may be applicable
- Complies with all company policies procedures and work instructions to ensure continued ISO certification
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE - Minimum high school graduate level required
- Tech or trade school is required and any experience in an industrial and electrical equipment manufacturing environment or electrical motor controls environment is a plus
- Must have a basic working knowledge of electricity and electromechanical equipment as a minimum
- Good electromechanical aptitude is helpful and preferred
- Able to lift and carry items that may be a minimum of 50 pounds or able to move heavier items with hand trucks dollies carts or other material handling equipment
- May be required to work on ladders lifts or scaffolds to access tall equipment and machinery
Salary Range: $20-23/hr HSE All employees have the responsibility to work in a safe manner and report any health, safety or environmental concern to their manager or supervisor in a timely manner. Employee responsibilities for Health, Safety and Environment include:
- Work in compliance with divisional health, safety and environmental procedures
- Refrain from removing or altering safety devices or guarding unless hazardous energies are controlled through lockout-tagout methods
- Report any unsafe conditions or unsafe acts
- Report defect in any equipment or protective device
- Ensure that the required protective equipment is used for the assigned tasks
- Attend all required health, safety and environmental training
- Report any accidents/incidents to supervisor
- Assist in investigating accidents/incidents
- Refrain from engaging in any prank, contest, feat of strength, unnecessary running or rough and boisterous conduct
