Assembly$17.50/hrM-Thur 5am-3:30pm, OT as required Purpose:Performs a variety of assembly / disassembly and fastening/unfastening of parts larger than hand using tools; fit, bolt, cut or otherwise connect components and equipment according to specifications. Prepare surfaces for paint application.Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepares weld area appropriately to result in good weld penetration and meets structural integrity criteria
- Collaborates with peers to accomplish projects or tasks
- Develops and maintains relationships with peers and customers
- Participates in group discussions and meetings
- Perform checks on product and process
- Assure material integrity by routine inspection by following established procedures and quality processes and specifications
- Assure piece and work output meets specifications
- Sort and separate defective materials and parts
- Assembles/disassemble and fasten / unfasten parts larger than hand using tools; fit, bolt, weld, cut or otherwise connect components and equipment according to specifications
- Assemble / disassemble small parts not requiring precision alignment or small tolerances
- Assemble / disassemble small parts requiring precision alignment and small tolerances
- Performs any other assigned task
Basic Requirements:
- At least 3 months of mechanical hand tools or power tools work experience
- Must be able to comprehend the English language
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to read and follow work procedures
- Ability to work in areas that are hard to reach and in awkward positions
- Ability to stand, crouch, climb 10 hours per day (in addition to overtime)
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds on a regular basis and work around moving vehicles, on ladders and scaffolding, below ground level, with vibratory tools
Desired Skills:
- Hand tool experience using wrenches, clamps, benders, and box knives
- Power tool experience using power drills and fastening tools
- Ability to achieve high performance goals with changing work directions
