The individual selected with lead over 50 people in 8 departments who are active with the final assembly and testing of our hand-held products. This position involves daily interaction in each department along with strong analytical and problems solving skills. The successful candidate requires someone with a history of using TPS methods to create standard work and a continuous improvement mindset. Ludlum Measurements Inc. Job Requirements
- A BS in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or Industrial Management
- 3-5 years direct operations management experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with new product launches is a plus
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- A background working in a high mix, low volume product offering produced in both make to stock and make to order production volumes
- Superior leadership skills to achieve all objectives.
- Exceptional budgeting, scheduling, and organizational skills are required.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills to clearly report to all levels of internal and external management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with a strong emphasis on MS Excel.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Job Responsibilities
- Interpret data to help see broad trends, solving problems, and support for capital investments
- Oversee and develop over 50 plus employees in 8 departments.
- Communicates effectively with Quality, Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Sales, and Accounting.
- Delegate responsibility to supervisors and leads throughout the facility.
- Hands on in directing product flow and production
- Ensure smooth and efficient assembly flow through the departments while overseeing its personnel and processes.
- Inspire and direct department personnel to maintain schedule, on time progress, and objectives to ensure high customer satisfaction rates.
- Operationally minded identifying and correcting inefficient processes to decrease costs while increasing profitability.
- Actively assists other departments and lines of business to achieve their goals and objectives as needed.
- Assists with company planning, organizing, and execution of strategic goals and objectives.
- Complete other duties as assigned or required.
