An industry leading pioneer in the packaging industry is looking for an Assembly Supervisor in Acworth, GA, North Metro Atlanta. The organization is a family-owned packaging machinery equipment manufacturer in a 30,000 square foot state of the art facility and is a leading supplier of end-of-line packaging machinery (stretch and shrink hood machines; palletizers; conveyors; shuttle cars and more).This organization is known for quality in a niche segment of the packaging machinery market, providing machinery to well-known customers throughout the world in a variety of industries. You will lead the Assembly Teams in assembling end-of-line packaging equipment, including automatic hooding machines, conveyor systems, and various other automated machinery. The Assembly Supervisor will be responsible for reading and utilizing drawings, 3D models, bills of material, electrical schematics, pneumatic drawings, and work instructions to guide the team in effectively assembling a machine from start to finish.Additionally, this individual will occasionally travel to customer facilities to assist with installations, conduct quality control checks, and support Assembly Teams with complex issues. The Assembly Supervisor will also manage and flow out project assembly tasks using a project management platform, ensure quality assurance of all machines built, contribute to training the employees and technicians, and coordinate the team's PTO schedules to ensure adequate staffing. The candidate is responsible for the safety, cleanliness, and organization of the warehouse, and will occasionally perform random film or product testing for potential customers through our sales department.Responsibilities:- Lead assembly team(s) in assembling complex packaging machinery- Review and interpret drawings, electrical schematics, pneumatic diagrams, and work instructions for assembly- Coordinate task assignment (with the team leads for placing machines, running/landing wiring/cabling, and assembling various other parts/equipment- Ensure proper alignment and securement of components with bolts, screws, or other hardware by the team- Conduct functional tests of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic assemblies- Troubleshoot and support the resolution of electrical and mechanical issues, ensuring effective solutions- Ensure compliance with all safety guidelines and contribute to safety improvements- Utilize ERP software for labor tracking, project and task management, and other workflow processes- Manage and flow out project assembly tasks using a project management platform- Ensure quality assurance of all machines built in the department- Conduct training for employees and technicians and ensure that said training is accomplished- Coordinate PTO schedules for their team to ensure adequate staffing for project assembly- Participate in continuous improvement activities- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized warehouse- Occasionally perform random film or product testing for potential customers through the sales departmentBase salary, $75 - $80K.
