JOB DESCRIPTION Summary/Objective The assembly team member performs operations to produce equipment components or to assemble those components into any of Puck's product lines by performing the following duties: Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Assembles products or components according to on-the-job training and standard processes.
- Performs processes to complete mechanical and electrical assemblies and subassemblies, using hand tools and electronic and hydraulic tooling.
- Diagnoses equipment manufacturing problems rapidly and accurately.
- Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the assembly team leader.
- Performs prescribed preventive maintenance on machines and safety equipment as required per the safety checklists and p.m. schedule.
- Attains assembly production goals by accurately and timely completing work orders with minimum supervision.
- Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
- Complies with all OSHA and Puck safety rules.
- Follows the Puck Quality Assurance Program by accurately performing the required tasks as directed by team leader.
Non-Essential Functions

Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the team member is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, oil, and grease. The team member is occasionally exposed to vibration. The team member occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and performs work from a variety of different angles and body positions. The team member may be occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at customers' premises. The noise level in the work environment and customer locations can be loud. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, twisting, crouching, and crawling all day. The team member is frequently required to use hands and fingers to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and to climb or balance. The team member is regularly required to reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The team member must regularly lift and move up to 25 pounds; and frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Days of work are Monday through Thursday. Hours of work are:
- Day shift begins no later than 6:00 a.m. and runs until 5:00 p.m., 40 hours per week. Four 10 hour days with every Friday off. Approved overtime optional each Friday.
Opportunities to work extended hours and on the weekend, work may be optional or required as job duties demand. Travel No travel is regularly expected for this position. On occasion, an assembly team member may be assigned to go out on a service call to a customer's premise. Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED diploma, or three to six months' related experience (in farming, construction, carpentry, or manufacturing) or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Three to six months'+ experience using equipment and tool terminology.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Two-year technical degree in any of the applicable skilled trades or two years' work experience in related field.
- Three to six months'+ work experience in electrical or hydraulics.
- Three to six months'+ experience safely operating machines.
Assembly 2 requirements:
- Meets all requirements of Assembly 1.
- Able to work independently start to finish on products.
- Ability to complete documentation timely and accurately.
- Demonstrates Product Knowledge
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Experience with hydraulics and electronics
- Strong ability to read and interpret hydraulics and electrical schematics.
- Demonstrates comprehensive know of Product systems and how they interact with one another.
