The Role: Assembly Technician

Are you currently looking for a full-time position in a technical environment? Are you a fast-paced hands-on person? Do you like critical thinking? Do you enjoy tinkering with and fixing things?

PTI is seeking reliable and energetic team members to assist our operations team in calibrating, maintaining, and assembling our bench-top test equipment. The position is on a temporary to permanent basis, has flexible hours within the standard work week, and provides an opportunity to experience a leading-edge technical environment. You should be comfortable performing detailed work, be interested in a technical line of work, and be ready to use your hands and mind to get the job done. Machines that will be worked on vary from small benchtop units to large robotic cells.

On any given day you may need to do the following (don t worry, we can teach you how)

  • Assemble and wire control panels according to electrical schematics and engineering drawings
  • Must be able to read/interpret drawing and electrical schematics
  • Install and connect electrical components, such as switches, relays, and terminal blocks
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and machining equipment to fabricate and modify control panel components.
  • Need to drill and tap Steel/Aluminum/Delrin
  • Think independently on how to resolve a mechanical issue
  • Troubleshoot a pneumatic system.
  • Calibrate a measurement system and run quality controls against equipment (don t worry, we can teach you how)
  • Provide accurate documentation of work performed for each project
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Ability to learn and apply technical training to tasks quickly and accurately
  • Basic Electrical/Electronic knowledge is required
