General DescriptionAs an Automation Machine Assembly Technician at Igus Inc., you will play a crucial role in physically building automation cells based on assembly instructions. You will work with precision and attention to detail to assemble, test, and ensure the functionality of automation machines. Your work will directly contribute to the success of our automation projects.Key Responsibilities:
  • Assembly: Execute the assembly of automation cells and machines according to provided instructions, drawings, and specifications.
  • Component Installation: Install and integrate various automation components, including motors, sensors, controllers, and mechanical parts.
  • Quality Control: Perform thorough quality checks and testing to ensure that assembled machines meet the required standards and specifications.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve any assembly-related issues or malfunctions efficiently and effectively.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of assembly activities, including parts used, assembly processes, and any modifications made.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with the engineering and product development teams to provide feedback on assembly processes and suggest improvements.
  • Safety: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment and the safe operation of assembled machines.
  • Qualifications:
    • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in assembly or a related field is a plus.
    • Proven experience in machine assembly, automation assembly, or similar roles.
    • Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to read and interpret assembly instructions and technical drawings.
    • Proficiency in using hand and power tools for assembly.
    • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
    • Problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot assembly issues.
    • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
    • Willingness to follow safety protocols and guidelines.
    Physical Demands:
    • Must be able to work in a plant environment with exposure to elements such as odor, noise, dust, heat, cold and other elements
    • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. (booth setup and dismantle may require some heavy lifting)
    • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, sometimes for the duration of the workday, while performing various tasks such as setup, installation, and teardown of trade show exhibits.
    • Willingness and capability to bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch in order to access work areas, assemble exhibit components, and perform necessary construction tasks.
    • Ability to work comfortably at heights, including climbing ladders, scaffolding, and platforms, to install overhead signage and lighting fixtures. Must also be able to navigate uneven surfaces and confined spaces within trade show venues.
