Job Description:
An industry leading pioneer in the packaging Industry is looking for Assembly Technicians in Acworth, GA, just north of Atlanta. The organization is a family-owned packaging machinery equipment manufacturer in a 30,000 square foot state of the art facility and is a leading supplier of end-of-line packaging machinery (stretch and shrink hood machines; palletizers; conveyors; shuttle cars and more). This organization is known for quality in a niche segment of the packaging machinery market, providing machinery to well-known customers throughout the world in a variety of industries. In this role you will work on the Production Team to assemble end-of-line packaging equipment, including automatic hooding machines, conveyor systems, and many other types of automated machinery. The Technician will be expected to use drawings, 3D models, bills of material, and work instructions to assemble a machine from start to finish. Additionally, this person would occasionally travel to customer facilities to assist with installations. Typical job responsibilities:- Receive and prepare the list of electrical and mechanical components needed for assembly- Review drawings, bills of material, and instructions for assembly - Inspect and modify parts as needed, this may involve drilling, tapping, grinding, welding and other operations to ensure that parts fit as intended- Use forklifts and cranes for moving large components or pallets of parts- Drill, tap, or ream holes in metal pieces using hand tools- Align components and attaches with bolts, screws, or various hardware- Use a ladder or lift truck to assemble components at up to 20 feet- Install moving parts, such as gears, shafts, motors, or bearings, and verify correct operation of components- Install and label tubing for pneumatic systems- Route wire through cable trays and help terminate- Organize wiring on machine, in cable trays, and in electrical cabinet- Conduct functional and continuity tests of electrical assemblies using an ohmmeter, test lights, and other electrical testing instruments.- Troubleshoot electrical/mechanical issues and implement solutions- Use a wide variety of measuring and gauging devices to ensure proper assembly- Abide by all safety guidelines and contributes to improvements- Use computerized Enterprise resource planning software for labor tracking and inventory control- Participate in continuous improvement activities- Must follow all safety procedures and rules- Follow all ISO 9001 proceduresBase salary, $60 - $65K, a 401k, medical, dental, life, and vision, and PTO.
