Job Description:

Hampton Rubber Company is an industrial hose distributor specializing in the shipbuilding and ship repair industry. Our state-of-the-art high pressure water jet allows us to cut intricate gaskets. We cater to the construction industry with a range of hose products for oil, water, chemicals, and air. We also provide hydrostatic testing services, with the ability to build hoses rated up to 10,000 psi and test up to 20,000 psi. Our well-trained employees ensure that every customer receives the best service possible. Role Description This is a full-time on-site role as an Assembly Technician at Hampton Rubber Company's location in Norfolk, VA. The Assembly Technician will be responsible for performing mechanical assembly tasks such as hose assembly, using hand tools and power tools, and conducting quality control checks. Position is based in a warehouse/production type environment. Candidate must be comfortable working in hot and noisy conditions. Required Qualifications

  • Experience with hand tools and power tools for mechanical assembly of hoses
  • Knowledge of quality control processes and procedures
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow written instructions
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing, construction, or assembly role is preferred
Requirements and Skills
  • Ability to follow instructions and diagrams as delivered for each product
  • Uses hand tools or machines to assemble hoses and couplings.
  • Conducts quality control checks.
  • Cleans and maintains work area and equipment, including tools.
  • Prepares work to be accomplished by studying parts lists and gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
  • Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.
  • Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit, fastening parts and subassemblies.
  • Verifies specifications by measuring completed component with tools such as a manual tape measure, calipers, micrometers, etc.
  • Comfortable working in a warehouse/production-based environment
