Job Description:

(Days: 9AM to 5PM)

As a member of the Assembly team, you will Assemble, fit, install, and test manufactured components and sub-assemblies to form completed systems. Support launch of alpha and beta products and provide feedback to the Development Engineering team. Develop and document procedures for new products. Flexibility to work within both Assembly and Refurbishment cells.

Key Responsibilities

  • Disassemble, evaluate, and prepare inspection report of findings on incoming Customer Hot Runners
  • Assemble, fit, and install prefabricated arts and sub-assemblies into unique custom made-to-order machine tool systems
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives
  • Cross train in other areas within the business as required; transfer and share knowledge with other team members
  • Monitor the functioning of all equipment and report any problems or substandard condition to the team leader
  • Ensure all documentation is maintained according to standard operating procedures
  • Perform all cleaning of parts as per established cleaning procedures
  • Perform regular heat test and inspection procedures to ensure that the product is formed in accordance with the specifications
  • Conduct product and performance testing and document results
  • Perform installation, repair, inspection, reassembly, replacing, refitting and adjusting products as required
  • Assist in troubleshooting fit, form and function issues and provide field support as needed to customers
  • Skills/Qualifications

    • High school diploma or high school equivalency required
    • Mechanical aptitude required
    • Proficient in the use of basic hand tools; crane and forklift experience
    • Ability to use, replace and maintain basic tooling
    • Basic computer knowledge required
    • Technically capable of performing hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic and/or electrical assemblies
    • Ability to lift a minimum of 35 pounds
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics and/or engineering drawings as required
    • Strong problem solving and customer relation skills
    • Experience using measuring and inspection equipment and tools
    • A keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach
    • Ability to work a variety of shifts and minimal travel may be required
    • College diploma or apprenticeship certificate in related studies preferred
    • Approximately 1- 3 years of relevant work experience preferred
