Summary: Under general supervision, assembles complex mechanical, electro-mechanical and plastic assemblies using advanced production techniques. Essential Duties/Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Using a variety of tools, assemble parts and subassemblies according to required specification.
  • Prepare work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, mechanical drawings, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
  • Review and understand single and multi-level bills of material.
  • Inspect incoming manufactured parts for quality and conformance to specifications.
  • Perform quality control inspections of completed assemblies and subassemblies as required to balance workload.
  • Provide other assemblers, technicians, engineers and project managers' feedback regarding quality and/or schedule issues and refine assembly techniques to improve manufacturing repeatability.
  • Work with area lead to establish priorities; notify lead of any shortages or problems that might affect the schedule.
  • Evaluate and verify that work complies with specifications using a variety of test methods and equipment.
  • Documents actions by completing production and quality records.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Secondary Duties:
  • Assist in preparation of units for packaging and shipment.
Education/Qualifications:
  • High school diploma/or equivalent is required for this position.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical assembly in a high-tech production environment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency using calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers and height/depth gauges.
  • Demonstrated experience reading and understanding blue prints and instructions as well as geometric tolerances.
  • Trained in all aspects of gowning and clean room protocol (preferred)
  • Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, area Lead, and management.
  • Must be a self-starter & self-motivated.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work well in a team environment
Work Setting
  • A temperature controlled production environment requiring sitting/standing for extended periods; occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. Personal protective equipment (safety glasses, ear protection) may be required. May operate moving equipment (forklift) as required to perform essential job functions.
