Linde Engineering North America LLCAssembly / Test TechnicianTonawanda, NY, United States | req18385What you will enjoy doingYou will support the Turbomachinery Shop assembly and testing activities andensure the safe and reliable operation of turbomachinery equipment within Lindefacilities at the lowest life cycle costThis hands on role requires you to have acombination of inspection, disassembly, assembly and testing of new or repairedExpansion Turbines and Centrifugal Compressors - Overtime and accessibilityduring off-hours is sometimes required to support project schedulesYou will dismantle machines using hand tools and power tools, in order to examine parts for defects and replace defective parts where neededAlso, you will calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and Vernier calipersAdditionally, you will measure, examine, and test completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometers and dial indicatorsIn this role you will study parts, blueprints, drawings, and engineering information in order to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to rebuild equipment and determine proper dimensions and tolerancesYou also will select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation of workYou will observe and listen to operating machines or equipment in order to diagnose machine malfunctions and to determine need for adjustments or repairsFurther, you will maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining proceduresYou will fit and assemble new or modified parts to repair turbomachinery equipmentIn this role, you will design fixtures, tooling, and experimental parts with help of engineeringLastly, you will prepare working dimensional sketches for machining and assembly QA purposesWhat makes you greatYou have a strong focus on Quality and Safety in performing everyday shop tasksYou have expert use of all precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, Vernier calipers, dial indicatorsYou demonstrate use of all hand and power tools used to disassemble or reassemble turbomachinery equipmentFurther, you have experience safely using overhead cranes, jib cranes and their associated riggingYou have excellent communication and team interaction skills and the proven ability to work independently as well as lead/participate on teams.You also have proven experience using computers and standard software packages (MS Office, E-Mail etc.)You are a preferred candidate if you have the following qualifications: hands on disassembly/ assembly of rotating equipment; knowledge of rotating equipment tolerances and clearances; experience shop balancing rotating equipment; demonstrated understanding of precision machining & assembly Q/A processesWhy you will love working with usLinde Engineering Americas (LEA) is a member of the Linde Engineering Division of Linde plc.
