KION News in the beautiful Salinas/Monterey market is looking for a Assignment editor / Digital Content Producer. This position oversees all aspects of the assignment desk and digital news content creation and writing with a focus on those who get our journalism from their mobile devices and home computer systems. The idea candidate will have strong AP writing skills and understand all social platforms. The role is based in the KION newsroom and works with field journalists to ensure that all aspects of the digital platform is current with the latest news and information. A strong attention to detail, excellent writing skills and a committed can-do team spirit are essential for success. Those with current experience in local journalism providing digital content will get priority consideration. This person will have a knack for seeking out breaking news. Salary for this role is $38,000 to $42,000 based on experience.
