POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: The University Athletic Association at the University of Florida is searching for an Assistant Maintenance Specialist to assist in the overall general maintenance of the buildings and facilities of the University Athletic Association. Responsibilities primarily consist of working with the heating ventilation and A/C systems. Other responsibilities include performing minor electrical repairs and maintenance, minor and moderately complex plumbing repairs, rough carpentry work, painting and hanging signage. This posting will remain open until a qualified candidate is chosen. MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED*
- One year of general maintenance experience*
- Valid driver's license
- Possess a positive attitude and strong customer service skills
- Ability to troubleshoot general maintenance issues
- Ability to engage effectively with others of diverse cultures or backgrounds
- Ability to work a non-standard work week which will include evenings, weekends, and holidays
Preferred Qualifications:
- HVAC experience
- Three years of general maintenance experience
- Electrical and plumbing experience
- Knowledge of building automation systems
