The faculty member will be appointed as an Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor (with tenure or on the tenure track depending upon qualifications). The successful candidate must have either a Ph.D. or M.D. degree and have expertise in molecular mechanisms of disease. The Department is particularly interested in candidates performing basic or translational research to address fundamental mechanisms of human genetic disease, develop functional genomic or therapeutic approaches, and/or use computational and bioinformatic approaches for genetic discovery and phenotypic delineation. The candidate must be able to mentor medical students, graduate students, residents, and/or fellows in basic research. It is highly desirable for the holder of this position to have secured long-term NIH funding, and to have demonstrated the ability to collaborate with others.The Department of Medical and Molecular Genetics offers a highly collegial and interdisciplinary environment that spans clinical medicine and basic research.
