If you'd like to know more, check out all of the .JOB SUMMARY:The Founding Director for the online Master of Science in Nursing Education at Niagara University will provide supervision and direction of this new program in collaboration with academic leadership and as outlined and required by national accrediting bodies. This inclusive candidate will assist with the development and implementation of course and curricular content with a visionary lens while preparing future nurse educators. The Director will report directly to the Dean. This is a 12-month faculty position with both administrative and teaching responsibilities.ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Maintain the academic integrity, quality and growth of the graduate nursing education programs offered by the College of Nursing (CON).
- Collaborates with the leadership team of the CON to design, develop and implement strategies to assess and enhance academic rigor, quality, and compliance to academic standards including program accreditation.
- Assure the graduate nursing education program is compliant with NY State Board of Nursing and accrediting agency standards including but not limited to completion and submission of annual reports, substantive change and CIPR reports, mid cycle reviews, and self-study documents.
- Assess and advocate for faculty resources and CON needs.
- Works within budgetary boundaries to assure the functioning of the graduate nursing education program.
- Works in collaboration with the leadership team to assign workload and teaching assignments for faculty teaching in the graduate nursing education program.
- Reviews data to support changes in policy, procedure, and curriculum.
- Collaborates with other departments of the University such as marketing, enrollment management, institutional effectiveness, to showcase and promote graduate nursing programs.
- Facilitate and/or participate in faculty and leadership meetings within the CON.
- Models professional values which support the mission, vision, and strategic direction of the CON and Niagara University.
- Provide course instruction within nursing program(s) as assigned.
- Identifies professional goals for leadership development to the dean.
- Serves on college and university committees as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. Strong administrative and managerial skills.Strong working knowledge of theoretical, clinical and skills in Nursing. ERGONOMIC REQUIREMENTS:The functions of the position are usually performed sitting or standing. Some amount of stooping, kneeling, bending, crouching, lifting, walking, carrying and other movements may be required. Tasks involve wrist and hand movement. All individuals are required to be able to perform these movements without significant risk of injury to themselves or others.QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
An advanced degree in Nursing. A nursing education area of focus is preferred.National certification as a nurse educator is preferred.Current, unencumbered NYS Registered Professional Nurse license.3-5 years of experience in nursing with evidence of leadership abilities.Experience providing instruction in an engaging, asynchronous online format.High level of emotional intelligence and self-awareness.Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as required.A record of teaching Nursing in an accredited institution of higher education.
