Assistant/Associate ProfessorWe are currently seeking to fill our Assistant/Associate Professor position at the Georgia campus with a highly qualified and passionate individual.Job Title: Asst./Assoc. Professor of Osteopathic Manipulative MedicineDepartment: OMM & OPPReports To: Professor and Chair of OMMPrimary Location: GeorgiaFLSA: Full-time, ExemptPosition Summary:The faculty member is expected to teach first and second-year DO students. Additional responsibilities include third and fourth-year OMM sessions, training sessions in OMM for local primary care residents, clinical service in the OMM center with patients, teaching in the OMM center, and mentoring OMM scholars. Year 1 and 2 OMM didactic and lab/hands-on sessions are the primary responsibility, though integration with the PCS/medical skills department will be required.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:
  • Maintain high professional standards in all aspects of professional service.
  • Participate in the education of OMS-1 & OMS-2 students at PCOM Georgia and PCOM South Georgia as indicated by the OMM Chair.
  • Contribute to the education of Osteopathic medical students in lecture, laboratory, and clinical settings.
  • Supervise and teach OMS-3 & OMS-4 students, as well as Osteopathic primary care residents assigned to the service.
  • Assist in the development of an off-site outpatient NMM & OMM specialty clinic.
  • Provide service in the current on-site NMM & OMM specialty clinic.
  • Assist in the future development of a Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine residency.
  • Evaluate student and resident progress in the development of appropriate medical knowledge and communicate these evaluations to the student or resident and administrative/faculty members as appropriate.
  • Serve in leadership and membership roles in college, faculty, and hospital committees.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the OMM Chair or Campus Dean.
Position Requirements:Education:
  • D.O. degree and Board Eligibility or Board Certification in Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine or its equivalent.
Experience:
  • Two years of teaching Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine in lecture, lab, and small group settings or the equivalent.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
  • Maintain active medical licenses and board certification in NMM or other appropriate primary care board certification with its equivalent proficiency in OMM.
