Job Description:
Frostburg State University, Department of Kinesiology, seeks applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant / Associate Professor of Exercise and Sport Science position to begin Spring 2025. This is a full-time, 10-month faculty position with teaching, service, and professional development responsibilities. Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications; University System of Maryland benefits package included.
Housed in the College of Education, Health, & Natural Sciences, the Department of Kinesiology offers graduate and undergraduate degree programs including a Master of Science in Athletic Training, Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sport Science, and a minor in Coaching. The Department has state-of-the-art classrooms and laboratories in the brand-new Education and Health Sciences Center which opened in the Fall of 2023.
The Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sport Science is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) upon recommendation of the Committee on Accreditation for Exercise Science {CoAES) since 2017.
Responsibilities: Teach didactic and clinical courses at the undergraduate level. Advise undergraduate students. Coordinate and develop curriculum in area of specialty/expertise. Devote efforts to scholarly activities and professional development. Provide service activities to the department, college, university, community, and/or profession. Other academic duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: Earned doctorate degree in exercise science/kinesiology or related field from a regionally accredited university.
The successful candidate will display evidence of leadership skills and excellent interpersonal communication skills.
