We especially encourage women, people of color, members of the LGBTQ+ community, veterans, and people with disabilities to apply.Position Title Assistant/Associate Professor of Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences Position Number 896929 School/Division School of Health Sciences DepartmentFull-Time or Part-Time Full-Time Description Hofstra University's Department of Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences seeks to fill an opening for a full-time, tenure-track, faculty position in Speech Science. This position is anticipated to begin in the Fall of 2025. The Department of Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences at Hofstra University is housed within the School of Health Sciences, which includes the Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic, located in the Joan and Arnold Saltzman Community Services Center. The Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic offers diagnostic and treatment services to children and adults for a variety of communication disorders.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in the areas of speech science, voice, disorders, and/or swallowing. The course load consists of nine semester hours (3 courses) of teaching per semester.
  • Publishing research in candidate's area of interest, including grant writing
  • Advising and mentoring students.
  • Serving on department, school, and university committees.
Qualifications
  • Earned research doctorate (PhD) in communication disorders, speech science, or related discipline.
  • ABD candidates will be considered.
Preferred Quals Summary
  • ASHA certified or eligible for certification.
